The remodeling of the Plaça del Mercat in the municipality of Celrà focuses on improving the functionality and urban integration of the space, reinforcing its connection with the village fabric and consolidating its role as a meeting place and community activity hub. The intervention respects the structure of the existing roads, the current trees, and projects continuity toward the north, while simultaneously consolidating the route of Carrer d’Isidre Rossell i Gimbernat, ensuring a fluid and safe circulation.
To pave the square, Panot Vulcano in White has been incorporated—a piece that combines the inspiration of the classic panot with a renewed chromatic and material proposal, bringing brightness and modernity to the environment. Its use allows for the visual organization of the different sectors of the square, reinforcing the alignment with the trees and delimiting activity and seating areas, while maintaining aesthetic coherence and resistance to pedestrian traffic.
The result is a dynamic, harmonious, and accessible public space where the pavement contributes to both the visual identity of the square and its functionality, offering a pleasant gathering place for the residents and visitors of Celrà.
