The historic Duarte Park is being revitalized as a community hub and tourist benchmark in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, one of the most emblematic public spaces in the Dominican capital. Its remodeling seeks to combine history, functionality, and sustainability, enhancing public use and improving the urban experience for residents and visitors alike.

This project is part of the Colonial City rehabilitation program, aimed at restoring the vitality of the area, improving accessibility, and promoting more sustainable urban development. The intervention has carefully balanced integration with historical heritage with the functionality of transit and rest areas.

In this intervention, Llosa Filtra has been incorporated, a paving slab that combines aesthetics and functionality. Its drainage capacity allows rainwater to filter into the ground, reducing the impact on infrastructure and contributing to sustainable water management. In addition, its resistance and stability make it ideal for high-traffic pedestrian zones and for maintaining a uniform and safe space. Its discreet and elegant design respects the historic identity of the park, integrating harmoniously with the vegetation, urban furniture, and surrounding architecture.

The result is a Duarte Park that presents itself as a resilient and welcoming urban space, where history, sustainability, and the civic experience converge, offering a meeting and enjoyment place for both residents and visitors.
