The Maritime Promenade of L’Escala has undergone an intervention to improve pedestrian accessibility and safety, with special attention to individuals with visual or cognitive diversity. In this context, Tactile Crossing pavements—longitudinal bands—have been incorporated, strategically positioned in various areas such as before stairs, pedestrian crossings, and accesses to squares or services.
These pavements provide clear and recognizable tactile signals, warning and guiding blind or visually impaired individuals, guaranteeing safe and comfortable transit along the entire promenade. Their integration respects the aesthetics of the surroundings, reinforcing inclusion and improving the experience of all users of the maritime promenade.
