The redevelopment of the northern section of the Rambla de la Girada in Vilafranca del Penedès transforms this avenue into a green urban corridor that prioritizes active mobility, fosters social cohesion, and maximizes the permeability of the space through responsible water management strategies. The project establishes distinct zones for pedestrians and seating areas, integrating vegetation, trees, and permeable pavements that allow for a sustainable and comfortable use of public space, connecting the boulevard with the park built over the railway cover and other nearby neighborhoods.
In this context, VS5® pavers have been incorporated into the strips near the building facades, ensuring a stable pavement thanks to their vertical spacers and lower grooves that prevent horizontal displacements and guarantee safety under traffic. For areas requiring higher permeability and water absorption, Llosa Filtra® has been used—a permeable paving block that increases water infiltration, ensures optimal structural support, and maintains the natural aesthetics of the corridor. The combination of VS5® and Llosa Filtra® creates a resilient, functional, and comfortable boulevard where pedestrian traffic flows safely, stormwater is efficiently managed, and the urban experience is enriched by a visually appealing and ecologically responsible environment.
