ARCHITECT@WORK Madrid 2026 has established itself as one of the benchmark gatherings for contemporary architecture and design. A key event for architects and interior designers where innovation in materials and construction solutions sets the pace for contemporary architecture.
Under the theme “Decarbonizing Architecture,” the 2026 Madrid edition has focused on reducing environmental impact throughout the building’s lifecycle through low-impact materials, energy efficiency, and smart design. This is a debate that is gaining increasing urgency and more concrete answers.

At Breinco, we participated with innovations in facades and exterior paving: Ferrater Brick and Moments. Two different solutions in shape and application, but with the same approach: resilient, durable, and responsible materials that transform spaces into higher-quality environments.

Ferrater Brick: Horizontality, Calm, and Character
Originally conceived by the architect Carlos Ferrater and developed in collaboration with Breinco, Ferrater Brick is a concrete brick for exposed brick facades that utilizes horizontality as a design element. Its virtually invisible vertical joints generate a continuous reading of the facade, bringing calm, precision, and serenity to the architectural ensemble.
Ferrater Brick is characterized by a careful and regular geometry that reinforces the horizontality of exposed masonry facades. This system, along with its wide range of colors—from the luminosity of Mediterranean white to tones that blend into any environment—allows for the creation of envelopes with their own unique identity.
Its high technical performance also makes it a low-maintenance solution: it is water-repellent, fire-retardant, antibacterial, and boasts proven durability over time.
Its versatility also allows it to be applied as paving, with various arrangements that evoke the tradition of classic pavements.

Moments®: Art and Comfort in Every Step
Inspired by nature, Moments® is a line of flagstones that combines functionality, aesthetics, and durability to transform terraces, pathways, porches, and entrances into spaces with their own character.
Its modular system allows for the creation of unique installation patterns by combining different formats, generating a visual dynamism that adapts to any style or need. Each project thus becomes something singular—a reflection of the personality of the space and those who inhabit it.
The Moments® collection is structured into two complementary lines designed to respond to different intensities of outdoor space use: Nature Moments® and Real Moments®.

Architect@Work: The Path Toward More Conscious Architecture
The decarbonization of architecture is a responsibility, but also a real opportunity to rethink how we build, with what materials, and under what criteria. Low-impact materials and responsible design are not a trend, but rather the path toward healthier, more resilient, and longer-lasting spaces.
We continue working in that direction, with solutions that combine innovation, precision, and respect for the environment.
