Mediterranean Design, Sustainability, and Urban Comfort
The new Port d’Aro Nautical Club, designed by ABX Arquitectura and landscape architect Martirià Figueres (Aspecte Paisatge), has become a benchmark for landscape integration and sustainability on the Costa Brava. Its renovation combines social spaces, art, energy efficiency, and contemporary design adapted to the Mediterranean environment.
The project has included the optimization of access points, energy efficiency through solar panels and improved insulation, and a significant landscape enhancement in the gardens and pool area. This environment, designed for relaxation and social interaction, stands out for the formal and sensory quality of its exterior finishes.
Breinco contributed with custom pavements and urban furniture, developed with sustainable solutions and aesthetically integrated. Llosa Vulcano® was used in light tones with textured finishes, ideal for wet areas such as the pool surroundings. Its durability, strength, and natural appearance make it an excellent choice for public spaces with high landscape value.
Complementing the design, benches manufactured with Wetcast® technology were installed, adapted to the pavement geometries and the project’s design lines. This architectural concrete solution allows precise execution, offers high resistance to the marine climate, and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
The Club has been distinguished with the Blue Flag, an international guarantee of environmental quality. This space demonstrates how architecture, art, and innovative materials can dialogue with the Mediterranean landscape to create memorable places.
