Textured Band

The textured band is made using a permanent surface-engraving method, in which the width of the band is recessed with a cutting tool to create a rough, tactile finish.

Its main purpose is to alert and guide people with visual impairments. It also helps organize and structure safe circulation routes in urban spaces.

Carborundum Band

Carborundum is silicon carbide, prepared by subjecting coke (carbon residue), silica sand, or sodium chloride to high temperatures. The resulting crystalline mass is very hard and is used as an abrasive..

It provides maximum slip resistance, making it especially useful on stairs, ramps, and wet or slippery areas.

It ensures tactile contrast and, in many cases, visual contrast, fully complying with universal accessibility requirements.
