FILTRA combines paving and drainage into a single product, thereby generating: an increase in its percentage of permeability, visually ensuring a pleasant natural aesthetic with infinite lines, providing comfort for pedestrian traffic, and eliminating the need for unsightly and costly drainage systems. Approximately 24% of the tile area is draining and 76% distributes loads to the lower layers. We have created the FILTRA tile as a new option within our range of permeable paving. It is designed for those who seek quality in their projects, visual appeal, and above all, an environmentally sustainable pavement.
FILTRA is part of the Acqua Joint Permeable Paving system.

The ACQUA JOINT pavement is a type of permeable paving that filters rainwater through the joints created by the pavers. They mimic the natural behavior of water 💧 in undeveloped sites, allowing rainfall to infiltrate through the pavement joints. Depending on site conditions, the rainwater is allowed to:
- ✅ Drain into the ground.
- ✅ Attenuate and release slowly into secondary drainage systems.
Sustainable design

It is a tile designed as a response to the problem of flooding. Therefore, it is a piece inspired by environmental sustainability featuring a unique, creative, innovative, and durable design. The proportion of filtering area in relation to the concrete ensures a pleasant, natural aesthetic of infinite lines that seamlessly integrate into any landscape. The FILTRA tile creates a 1.5 cm linear drainage joint that boosts its permeability capacity, reaching a permeability of 8,640 mm/h (24,000 l/s·ha), and also features spacers that provide internal interlocking to ensure maximum structural support. Its materials, design, and technology ensure robust and durable paving that minimizes wear caused by wheel erosion, wind, water, and pedestrian traffic. It weighs 43 kg and its dimensions are: It is available in two colors that adapt naturally and elegantly to any project: grey and desierto.

Sustainability of FILTRA
It is a sustainable paving option, thanks to a set of features:

- Recyclable: 100% of the product can be recycled.
- Up to 40% recycled materials.
- Regional manufacturing: made with locally sourced materials.
- Air Clean® pavement: features photocatalytic properties that produce a decontaminating, biocidal, and self-cleaning effect, while reducing the emission of environmentally harmful NOx gases.
Benefits
Filtra provides the following features:
- Higher percentage of permeability.
- Environmentally sustainable.
- Solution to flooding caused by rains.
- Robust and durable paving.
- Pleasant natural aesthetic with infinite lines.
It complies with the requirements of the UNE-EN 1339:2004 standard.
Installation
To design the subbase composition for any permeable pavement, we must take into account the following requirements:
- Load to be supported: traffic load category.
- Ground quality: CBR index of the existing soil.
- Hydraulic requirements of the area: rainfall frequencies and intensities, and site topography.
There are two installation systems depending on how the attenuated water is released:
- Infiltration: When soil conditions have sufficient permeability, rainwater filters through the FILTRA slab, then through the gravel bed, is temporarily stored in the subbase, and slowly infiltrates into the underlying soil.

- No infiltration: In cases where the ground is clayey (ratio de infiltración 10-9 m/s), the soil is sealed or contaminated, or a known protected aquifer exists, infiltration would not be possible. We would opt to include an impermeable storage membrane and a restricted outlet pipe leading to the sewer system or an additional attenuation system.

Use
The characteristics of the Filtra slab make it easily adaptable to any environment or landscape project, such as: access roads, parking lots, and rural paths.
