Filtra | Permeable pavement by Breincosmart FILTRA combines paving and drainage in a single product, delivering: an increased permeability rate, a visually pleasing natural aesthetic with seamless lines, pedestrian comfort, and the elimination of unsightly and costly drainage systems. Approximately 24% of the unit’s surface area is draining, while 76% distributes loads to the lower layers. We have created the FILTRA slab as a new alternative within our permeable paving range. It is designed for those seeking project quality, visual appeal, and above all, an environmentally sustainable pavement. FILTRA is part of the Acqua Joint Permeable Paving Range ACQUA JOINT pavement is a type of permeable paving that filters rainwater through the joints created by the pavers. It mimics the natural behavior of water 💧 in undeveloped sites, allowing rainfall to infiltrate through the pavement joints. Depending on site conditions, rainfall is allowed to: ✅ Drain into the ground. ✅ Attenuate and release slowly into secondary drainage systems. Sustainable Design This slab has been engineered as a response to flooding issues. Consequently, it is a piece inspired by environmental sustainability, featuring a unique, creative, innovative, and durable design. The ratio of the filtration area to the concrete ensures a visually pleasing, natural aesthetic with endless lines that blend seamlessly into any landscape. The FILTRA slab creates a 1.5 cm linear draining joint that enhances its permeability capacity, achieving a permeability rate of 8,640 mm/h (24,000 l/s x ha), and also features spacers providing an internal interlocking system to ensure maximum structural support. Its materials, design, and technology guarantee robust and durable paving, minimizing wear and tear caused by wheel erosion, wind, water, and pedestrian traffic. Its weight is 43 kg and its dimensions are: It is available in two colors that naturally and elegantly adapt to any project: grey and desierto. Filtra | Desierto Filtra | Grey Sustainability of FILTRA It represents a sustainable paving option, thanks to a combination of distinct features: It is recyclable: 100% of the product can be recycled. Up to 40% recycled materials. Regional manufacturing: manufactured using locally sourced materials. Air Clean®️ pavement: features photocatalytic properties that provide a decontaminating, biocidal, and self-cleaning effect, reducing emissions of NOx harmful to the environment. Benefits Filtra delivers the following benefits: Higher permeability percentage. Sustainable for the environment. A solution to rainwater-induced flooding. Robust and durable paving. A visually pleasing natural aesthetic with endless lines. Complies with the requirements of the UNE-EN 1339:2004 standard Installation To design the sub-base composition for any draining pavement, the following requirements must be taken into consideration: Load bearing requirements: traffic load category. Soil quality: CBR rating of the existing subgrade. Hydraulic requirements of the area: rainfall frequency and intensity, and local topography. There are two installation systems depending on how the attenuated water is released: Infiltration: When ground conditions offer sufficient permeability, rainwater filters through the FILTRA slab, then through the aggregate bedding layer, is temporarily stored in the sub-base, and slowly infiltrates into the underlying subgrade. No infiltration: In cases where the subgrade consists of clay (infiltration rate 10-9 m/s), the ground is sealed or contaminated, or a known protected aquifer exists, infiltration is not possible. We would opt to include an impermeable membrane liner tanking system and a restricted outlet pipe to the sewer system or to an additional attenuation system. Applications The characteristics of the Filtra slab allow it to easily adapt to any environment or landscaping project, such as: access roads, parking spaces, and rural pathways.
