Taking into account today’s urban lifestyle, the need for spaces for leisure, social interaction and work is becoming increasingly important. For this reason, within the framework of a collaboration project between Breinco and Pich Architects, this construction system for walkable inverted roofs has been developed.
Composition ♾ INFINITY
INFINITY integrates in a single piece thermal insulation and a high-quality aesthetic finish to build a walkable inverted roof.
It is composed of:
1️⃣ a concrete slab (Llosa Vulcano®) that protects against mechanical actions and ultraviolet radiation, and
2️⃣ a layer of high-performance extruded polystyrene that provides thermal insulation. At the base, it includes 3️⃣ unidirectional grooves that facilitate water drainage.
The system is more than the sum of its two materials; it can be installed without any mortar or adhesive, directly over waterproofing membranes and geotextile. It provides clear improvements in maintenance and usage flexibility. It also allows the slab to be reused or its components easily recycled.

As an added value compared to other market systems, it has been tested during the design process to achieve optimal performance in rainwater behaviour. After the development phase, the system is defined, ready for manufacturing, and has already been successfully applied in several walkable roof projects.
