Author-designed pieces
The Salva Fàbregas Studio, in collaboration with Óscar Pérez, has designed the Timber for Breinco. A wood and steel bench that, through handrail craftsmanship carried out in artisan workshops, achieves forms more commonly associated with complex processes such as casting.

The Salva Fàbregas Studio develops design projects where ideation and problem-solving can take the form of product creation, system development, or simply the redefinition of an existing product or solution. In all cases, the main objective is to work from a sustainability perspective, understanding it as a core principle closely aligned with circular economy thinking. For this reason, the studio’s projects are characterized by the minimization of materials, processes, and resources.
Among recent highlighted projects are the redesign of the Barcelona waste bin; the Antivolabossa device (Pulse Design for Recycling 2015) and the new cigarette butt receptacle, both for the Barcelona waste system. Signage for the Metropolitan Parks Network of Barcelona, the Metropolitan Beaches, and the Bicivia metropolitan cycling network are currently in the implementation phase.

Unique and distinctive. Elegant, subtle, and refined. Comfortable and empathetic. Recognizable. Locally manufactured with resource-efficient production.

Timber wooden bench
The Timber is a traditional bench with a touch of sophistication. A solid wood and steel bench that brings the domestic, interior-like qualities of seating into the public space.
A piece of apparent complexity, manufactured in local workshops without the need for industrialized processes. Its carefully defined construction details give it a friendly and comfortable appearance, while remaining strong, reliable, and highly suitable for specification.
A sense of calm defines this range, which includes a bench, chair, and stool.

Composition
Wood
Wood is a durable, strong, and warm material that integrates easily into any environment. Contrary to common belief, the use of wood has no harmful effects. Timber harvesting supports forest renewal when accompanied by sustainable management policies.
Steel
Steel is resistant to impact, time, and deformation. The components are welded together to ensure total strength and longevity. Steel is 100% recyclable without loss of quality.
Oil
Solvent-free protective products used in water-based phase do not form a surface film, preserving the natural appearance, tones, and grain of the wood.
Installation
- Position and screw the wooden backrest to the steel structure.
- Screw the three seat slats into place.
- The element is fixed to the pavement using four M8 threaded rods, inserted into pre-drilled holes filled with epoxy resin, rapid-setting cement, or similar material.

Maintenance
The Timber bench requires no functional maintenance unless the original wood color is to be preserved, as oil-treated wooden surfaces naturally tend to turn grey over time depending on environmental conditions at the installation site.
The formation of a grey patina is a natural physiological reaction and acts as a self-protection layer against atmospheric agents, without affecting product quality. However, the grey tone can be mitigated through periodic re-oiling..
