If you want to design the city of the future,SUDS are for you

Benefits

Environmental impact

  • Reduction of air and noise pollution.
  • Increase in biodiversity, which is particularly important for ecosystem functioning.
  • Better rainwater management helps to minimize the effects of flooding.
  • Shift towards active transportation. We encourage walking, cycling, skating, and more.
  • Mitigation of the “Urban Heat Island” effect. By reducing this phenomenon, characterized by higher temperatures in urban areas, we enhance overall quality of life.

Benefits

Social impact

  • In areas where SUDS drainage techniques are applied, life expectancy improves:
    + health, + social cohesion, – inequalities.
  • Reduction in crime and insecurity. Pedestrian-friendly and communal spaces foster social connections, which helps prevent major thefts by limiting escape routes.
  • Creation of playgrounds and recreational areas around schools.
  • Promotion of community events and gatherings.
  • Strengthened sense of belonging and neighborhood pride.

Benefits

Economic impact

  • Growth of local commerce and strengthening of local economies.
  • Increase in property values in areas with these environments.
  • Higher foot traffic in pedestrian areas, boosting the local economy.
  • Fewer empty commercial spaces.
  • Increased nightlife.
  • Promotion zones: providing communities with spaces to display their name, promotional images, branding, and signage to enhance brand identity.
  • Small residential neighborhoods paving corners with permeable cobblestones, leading to new businesses opening and increased area value.

The new generation of permeable paving

Permeable Pavements are characterized by:

  • Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS).
  • Reduction of surface runoff and local flooding.
  • Support for evaporation, creating a healthier urban climate.
  • Promotion of groundwater recharge and soil functions.
  • They protect groundwater by retaining pollutants.
  • They filter up to 100% of rainwater.
  • Reduced need for sewer networks, leading to cost savings.
  • Compliance with all aspects of sustainability: environmental, economic, and social.

Sustainability

Regional Products

At Breinco, we support the use of locally sourced products to reduce the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation.
Regional materials are defined as products and materials that are extracted, processed, and transported within the same region in which they are used, with the aim of reducing transport costs while also lowering energy consumption and, consequently, CO2 emissions.

Reusable Material

Our products are manufactured using up to 40% recycled aggregate, depending on the product, while consistently maintaining the high standards of quality and durability that define Breinco.

100% Recyclable

At Breinco, we are committed to a more sustainable world; therefore, 100% of our products are fully recyclable.

40% Recycled Aggregate

Our products are manufactured using up to 40% recycled aggregate, depending on the specific product, while consistently maintaining Breinco’s hallmark standards of quality and durability.

100% Recycled Plastic

Our packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic, and we use reusable wooden pallets certified with the PEFC seal, promoting sustainable forest management.

100% Renewable Energy

The energy consumed by Breinco is generated entirely from 100% renewable energy sources.

Solar Reflectance Index

The SRI value makes it possible to classify a surface finish according to its ability to help mitigate the urban heat island effect. Dark surfaces that absorb and retain heat should be avoided, while lighter-coloured surfaces are recommended.
