The Barcelona Airport is one of Spain’s primary international connection hubs, featuring a constant flow of passengers and vehicles that requires an efficient, safe, and high-quality infrastructure. Its extensive outdoor areas and covered zones are designed to guarantee comfort, functionality, and fluidity, from the arrival of passengers to their transit through the different access points and airport services.
In this project, the intervention focused on the car and taxi waiting areas, located at the entrance and exit of the terminal, as well as other open-air surfaces. The goal was to enhance the user experience, optimize circulation, and provide a durable and aesthetically refined pavement in high-traffic areas.
For the paving of these areas, Llosa Vulcano® in color ceniza, has been used, a solution that combines resistance, durability, and color stability with a modern and elegant finish. Its neutral tonality integrates harmoniously with the architectural and urban environment of the airport, creating welcoming spaces that are visually coherent with the terminal’s image.
The result is a robust, high-performance pavement suitable for the constant traffic of vehicles and pedestrians, which improves the safety and functionality of the outdoor surfaces. At the same time, it provides a refined aesthetic finish that reinforces the identity and quality of the airport infrastructure.
