The Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, an international benchmark in biomedical research, integrates Llosa Miramas into its outdoor spaces as the primary paving solution, reinforcing the architectural and scientific identity of the complex.
In all outdoor installations, Llosa Miramas in Black & White finishes has been incorporated, generating a continuous, elegant pedestrian surface with high visual value. Its triangular geometry allows for dynamic compositions that transform the pavement into a true architectural plane, aligned with the innovative character of the campus.
From a technical standpoint, it is a VS3 piece with integrated spacers on its three vertical faces using protrusions and recesses, which prevent displacements and guarantee stability. Furthermore, it incorporates Air-Clean® technology, providing decontaminating properties that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable space.
The pavement accompanies the development of the new Bioma Center, a building designed by architect Patxi Mangado, located across from CIMA and connected by a 7,000 m² pedestrian plaza. This new facility, being built in Pamplona, reinforces the campus’s vocation as a meeting point for teaching, research, scientific dissemination, and the city.
The result is a sober, contemporary, and durable outdoor space where Llosa Miramas acts as a link between architecture, science, and landscape, providing aesthetic quality, functionality, and coherence with the values of innovation and sustainability that define the University of Navarra.
