The Port of Tarragona is renovating its spaces, connecting the city with the sea and facilitating access to the docks where vessels are moored. The promenades, seating areas, and access points have been designed to offer safe and comfortable routes, integrating functionality with a pleasant visual experience facing the coastline.
Tegula® art has been used to pave the outdoor areas, combining durability, resistance, and harmony with the port environment. This paving naturally guides visitors through the various spaces: pedestrian promenades, mooring areas, meeting points, and access to port facilities, while maintaining an aesthetic consistent with the Mediterranean light and the port’s architecture.
The intervention also includes a significant increase in green areas, the planting of native species, and sustainable drainage systems that contribute to improving urban biodiversity and mitigating the effects of climate change. Thanks to these improvements, the port becomes an open and accessible space where economic activity and urban life coexist with nature and the contemplation of the sea.
