The Maternitat Precinct in Les Corts is a vast area in Barcelona that houses various public facilities linked to the administrative, educational, and healthcare sectors, preserving high historical, architectural, and social value.
In this project, we have incorporated the Vulcano® slab and the P51 step in three colors, providing a new aesthetic and functional dimension to the site. The use of color allows for the enrichment of the urban landscape design, breaking away from the uniformity of traditional gray and creating friendlier, more dynamic, and contemporary spaces.
Llosa Vulcano® has been specially designed to guarantee exceptional hardness and high chromatic stability, ensuring its resistance and durability over time. It is a chromatic slab ideal for paving public squares, sidewalks, and building entrances, as well as pedestrian areas or zones with occasional light vehicle traffic, provided the appropriate thickness and installation system are used.
For its part, the P51 step complements the intervention by providing visual continuity, safety, and functionality across different levels, contributing to a coherent, accessible, and aesthetically integrated design within the environment.
The result is an intervention that combines design, resistance, and color, respecting the historical character of the precinct and adapting it to the current needs of the public space.
