A historic building is reborn
Panot Flor, the iconic pavement that has graced the streets of Barcelona for over a century, not only adorns the city but has also become a cultural and architectural reference. Now, this emblematic piece finds a new setting: interiors, thanks to the “inout” trend, which blurs the boundaries between exterior and interior.
Against this backdrop, the renovation of the Joaquín Ferran House takes center stage. This historic building, dating back to 1879 and part of Barcelona’s rich architectural heritage, has been reimagined by the Manrique Planas studio. During the renovation, Panot Flor was incorporated into the interior spaces, harmoniously blending history and modernity.
The result is a perfect balance: Panot Flor brings texture, character, and a connection to the city’s history, while engaging in dialogue with the contemporary elements of the house. Every step inside the Joaquín Ferran House reminds us that design does more than serve a function—it tells a story, evokes memory, and creates experiences.
The renovation confirms that Panot Flor is far more than just a pavement: it is a transformative element capable of redefining spaces, seamlessly blending historic architecture with modern interior solutions. The “inout” trend opens a new chapter in Barcelona’s history, allowing the city’s most iconic pavement to be experienced within some of its most emblematic buildings.
