The proposal for the Port Vell de Barcelona suggests the incorporation of Temple, a set of three urban furniture pieces of different dimensions, which reinterpret the language of classical architecture from a contemporary perspective. Inspired by Doric column drums, their concave-curved shafts provide a timeless and distinguishable geometry, capable of integrating into a historical and maritime environment with its own identity.

Temple is conceived as versatile and modular furniture that transcends the function of a bench to generate multifunctional spaces and scenarios: rest areas, meeting points, play areas, or pathway delimiters. The grouping of the pieces favors the creation of dynamic social situations, promoting interaction and the appropriation of public space by citizens and visitors.

With this intervention, Temple connects memory and the present, incorporating references to classical architecture into urban furniture that enhances the flexibility and vitality of the public space, adapting to different uses and needs. Its design combines functionality, aesthetics, and adaptability, offering new ways to enjoy and inhabit the Port Vell environment, without compromising its historical and scenic value.
