Torrent Maduixer Park, located in the Sant Gervasi neighborhood of Barcelona, is developed atop a subterranean building of nearly 3,000 m² that centralizes street cleaning services, making use of a total land area of approximately 5,000 m². The proposal seeks to integrate nature with urban leisure, offering areas of lawn, sand, benches, fountains, and a children’s play area, creating spaces to walk, run, or enjoy the outdoors. The Mediterranean vegetation—composed of shrubs, groundcover, and climbing plants—is maintained year-round and establishes visual continuity with the natural surroundings of Collserola, reinforcing the feeling of a green park within the city.
For the pavements and surfaces, solutions were incorporated that combine functionality, durability, and safety. Llosa Vulcano® is used in the main transit areas and pathways, providing a resistant and stable surface that integrates aesthetics and robustness, suitable for the continuous use of the park. Meanwhile, the combination of Llosa Trama® with Taco Trama allows for the creation of walkable surfaces, combining the natural look of green space with the resistance necessary to support pedestrian traffic and the installation of specific elements, all while maintaining a uniform and safe finish. These slabs feature cavities that facilitate efficient irrigation, optimizing water consumption and guaranteeing the vitality of the vegetation.
In addition, the integration of Superstep® in certain areas provides comfort and safety, offering durable, slip-resistant surfaces, particularly in zones where a high level of protection is required for users, such as playgrounds or around fountains. The combination of these products ensures that Torrent Maduixer Park is a safe, sustainable, and functional public space, where materials and design adapt to the urban environment and the needs of visitors.
