FILTRA slab was awarded Premi Catalunya d’Ecodisseny 2021

Our FILTRA paving has been recognized as an innovative solution with a high level of permeability and, above all, for its smart design that improves rainwater management.

The incidence and impact of floods worldwide have highlighted the importance of incorporating sustainable drainage. For this reason, at Breinco we have created the slab FILTRA, a product that combines paving and drainage in one single solution.

CATALONIA ECODESIGN AWARD

The Catalonia Ecodesign Award is granted every two years to products on the market and in development that are designed, manufactured or executed in Catalonia and that integrate environmental considerations into their design throughout their life cycle. It mainly evaluates the incorporation of ecodesign strategies and the contribution to the circular economy, the quality of design and innovation.

This year, in the “Product” category, the award went to our Filtra slab. The jury recognized Filtra as an innovative paving solution with a high level of permeability that improves water management, minimizes erosion and increases pedestrian comfort. Its modular design, 100% sustainable composition and durability were also highlighted.

FILTRA an innovative permeable pavement

The FILTRA slab combines paving and drainage in a single product, thus generating: an increase in permeability, a visually natural aesthetic of infinite lines, pedestrian comfort, and eliminating the need for unsightly and expensive drainage systems.

Approximately 24% of the piece’s area is draining and 76% distributes loads to the lower layers.
